Dale Atkinson received his bachelor's in nuclear engineering in 1978 and has 25 years of experience in the nuclear industry. For the past 14 years, he has been employed by Energy Northwest, which operates the only commercial nuclear reactor remaining in the Northwest. His positions with Energy Northwest have included Manager of Reactor Engineering and Fuel Design, Manager of Engineering, and most recently Vice President, Technical Services. Previously, Atkinson worked for General Electric Company and was an officer in the U.S. Navy serving on board the USS Narwhal, a nuclear attack submarine. Atkinson earned a master's of engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1986, and an MBA from the University of Washington in 2002. He serves on the Advisory Board for the OSU Department of Nuclear Engineering and on the Western Nuclear Science Alliance Advisory Committee.
